Silver Sky Imports is an interesting site featuring many handicrafts from Tibet and Nepal. We specialize in Tibetan Singing bowls and feature sound files for each bowl online. What inspired you to launch your own website? My love for Tibet and the Buddhist culture inspired me to launch this site. When did you launch your first website, and what was it? SilverSkyImports.com is the first full site I have launched and it has been active for over 4 years. How did you decide on a name for your website? The name Silver Sky Imports came from an inspiring trip to the Himalayas. What makes your website different from other, similar offerings? We are the largest site offering individual pictures and sound files of Tibetan Singing Bowls. What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?) My eventual goal is to keep doing what I am doing and earn an income from my dream. How does your investment of time and money balance against your success? My success has been greatly determined by how much time and money I put into the business. If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site? If I had n unlimited budget I would like my site professionally designed. If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand? I believe I would be able to keep up with the demand if my site got really big, really quickly. What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with? The major unexpected costs with this business is advertising. I didn't realize how much it would cost to bring people to the site. What has been your biggest challenge? My biggest challenge is staying organized while growing. What method has been most successful for promoting your website? Google and eBay have been most successful for promoting my site. How has running your website differed from your expectations? The difficulty of running my own website has differed from my expectations. How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity? I have run the site for over 3 years and will continue as long as it is profitable. What was the hardest decision you have made? The hardest decision I made was to quit my full time job.
