Many of us westerners used to the materialistic life and comforts of everyday life think of the ancient lands of Asia and Africa such as India, China and Egypt as being those immersed in lethargy, ignorance and useless knowledge in the past ages without having much to contribute to the developed western world. But in actual practice this is not so and these parts of the world delved deeply into the study of the concepts like meaning of life and its existence, though much of this knowledge is misunderstood and portrayed wrongly.
But of late we have surely realized the importance of this knowledge and many people from our lands have ventured into their region in search of true gems of knowledge which lay hidden in the dirt and girth that had covered these lands for centuries.
It is not possible to list all such personalities who traveled across these frontiers and the people they met on the other side of the fence, in a single short blog article but this would be done step by step by studying a few of the insights that were glimpsed by research scholars and casual travelers on the look out for some adventure in the Orient.
