Teaches an array of simple self-healing techniques anyone can use for everyday self-care, natural pain relief, managing stress, bouncing back from illness, and recovering from injuries.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I am an energy healer and feel passionately that it is something that is so useful for healing, health, and personal evolution. I myself have had some amazing person experiences as a recipient of energy healing. However, it is little understood. I wanted to provide some useful, clear, non-esoteric information about energy healing that people could use for themselves and their families.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I launched my website in the spring of 2008. It was The Energy Healing Site.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I am a Site-Build-It user, and followed their detailed recommendations for developing and naming sites. I wanted a name for my website that sounded straight-forward and not all "new-agey." Thus the name "The Energy Healing Site.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
I believe that my website is different than many in the field because it is more about offering general information about energy healing, than trying to sell a service, or market a particular type of energy healing. I am trying to offer a general overview that is of genuine service to people who are interested in energy healing but don't know much about it.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
My eventual goal is to keep the website, and to keep developing it. Eventually I may add some slight monetization vehicles, such as Adsense. And some e-books and other down-loadable info-products. But all in good time!
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
So far I've invested a lot of time and have had no financial return. But I didn't expect it yet. I also use the website to offer local people information about my grounded business-my energy healing practice. So I see the website as part of my general marketing efforts and don't necessarily need to reap a lot of money from it.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would keep adding more information, and do lots of interviews with experts in particular fields within energy healing. I would add some bells and whistles, such as video and sound. And I do intend to add some e-books.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
None. Creating a site through Site Build It is very straight-forward and really, pretty easy!
What has been your biggest challenge?
Finding time to work on my site. I have a family and a grounded business as well as my website.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
I wouldn't say I've been particularly successful yet! I am still learning and my website is still in its infancy. I use the web development/hosting site Site Build It, and I have only begun to explore the many services and features available through them.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
No, not really. But as I said, it's in its infancy.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I've had the website up for about 6-8 months. I will continue to keep it up because I have a mission--help make energy healing more accessible to the general public--because I so believe in it.
