Astral Projection Lulls Me To Sleep

I am just a little curious about astral projection techniques. I am new to my yoga class and more often than not, everytime we try astral projection, I always end up sleeping. I really try hard not to sleep but I don't know what happens next. My instructress also told me to try Yoga Nidra technique. Eventually it worked for me. But sometimes I'm just so lazy to do it. I have never ever tried leaving my body yet. Just thinking about it, it's making me so scared.
